World Rabies Day in Duhok, Kurdistan

Directorate of Veterinary in Duhok Province in coordination with general directorate of health, celebrate the world rabies day, the event that take part in Zanist hall, started with a welcoming by Dr.Diyar Tayeb, director of veterinary, emphasis on the importance of this day from a public health view, the first seminar was by Dr.Serwan M. Aswad, head of zoonotic disease in the general directorate of health, on the last data on the animal bits and rabies cases in Kurdistan in general and in Duhok particular, the second seminar was by Dr.Suleman Tamar, head of Dep. Of animal health from directorate of veterinary, on the modern methods for controlling stray dogs in the cities, the third one was by Dr.Shwan M.Ali, in charge of the veterinary public health in directorate of veterinary, on the last survey on the stray dogs in the city of duhok which conducted by a team from directorate of veterinary for 20days. The participants were from the local media, NGOs, local authorities, veterinarians, and farmers.
